Welcome to the COMPLETE BREWERY GUIDE to the Southern Oregon Coast.
This section of the guide will include the 7 breweries currently located between Reedsport to Brookings.
The FULL BREWERY GUIDE will allow you to access all of the other breweries along the coast
‘Drink local beer’ was one of the items on my personal Travel Oregon Bucket List because I believe in drinking the local creations when you travel. Beer is a drink of the people, made by the people, and for the people and a true taste into the community.
I have personally visited all of these breweries, chatted with staff, drank their beer, all in the efforts to help YOU pick some beautiful cities and cool breweries to experience during your time on the incredible Oregon Coast.

Disclaimer; I have done my best to ensure accurate information at the time of posting but things change. Please leave me a comment or send me a message if you find anything to be incorrect. Much of the Oregon Coast is seasonal based, busy from May-September, the offseason may impact hours and days of operation for any businesses.
How To Use This Guide;
We will work our way from North to South. All of the links to specific beers below are to the app/website Untappd. They are the beers I personally drank. If you Untappd it too, please ADD ME HERE [I love to see what other people are drinking.]

Defeat River Brewery
Upon arriving, one can easily feel at home. The rustic wood combined with the copper bar top is complemented by the amber lighting and pub-like feeling. Defeat River Brewing opened in 2016 as the only-ever brewery in Reedsport and has the motto “Family, Community, Beer.” They staff the taproom with extremely friendly people, like Rachel, to ensure that you are given a warm welcome and a great beer drinking experience.
The Beer: Brewed on a 10 bbl steam system, using local malts and ingredients in their brews. At the moment it is only served on draft – at their taproom and other select locations in Oregon. Communion Red Ale | Sonshine Session Ale | Coastal Breeze NW IPA | 1.21 Jigahops IPA | THOR CDA | Pioneer Stout | The Bravest Pale Ale | Accept Da-Wheat Wheat Ale
Food: Bring your own! Or, take advantage of the offer to order food from a local place off the menus in the taproom and have it brought to you! A selection of local wine, cider, and soda are also available.

7 Devils Brewing Company
Located in the heart of downtown Coos Bay, 7 Devils is often bustling with people. Open since 2013, this brewpub has indoor/outdoor seating and two different bars with warm wood decor. It is an upbeat and fast paced environment where you can still find a spot to relax and enjoy some beer in good company. They regularly have live music and focus on a local and sustainable practice of business across all areas. Named after a nearby beach; Sevin Devils.
The Beer: Their Northwest Style Ales are made in small batches using 100% ingredients from the USA, primarily local to the PNW. They fill their bottles on a manual 4-head- filler system and self-distribute within a 100-mile radius to support the local economy. Stanton Street Lager | Endless Summer Blonde | Lighthouse Session Pale | Chinook Redd | Arago Amber | Simphonic India Session Ale | Groundswell IPA | Trillium Imperial IPA | Blacklock Oat Porter | Shearwater Irish Sout | Symbiosis Fig Stout | McCullough Mocha Stout

Bandon Brewing Company
As you enter the old town portion of Bandon, Bandon Brewing Company will be one of the first places you see. They opened their doors in 2017, one of the newer breweries on the coast. A large, open dining area smells of wood-fired pizza as you enter. Make your order at the counter and find a seat inside at a table or bar top, or, out on their dog-friendly outdoor patio. You can view through and see the brewing system as you eat, drink, and be merry (and even walk through it to access the bathrooms.)
The Beer: Brewed on a 5 bbl system, their beers rotate on draft and they feature guest taps with other local breweries as well. Uber Lager | Charlie’s Pale Ale | One-Eyed Jack IPA | B’Z Honey Wheat Pale | Camp 7 Coffee Porter | The Niall Amber Ale
Food: Wood-fired pizza, even available by the slice. You can see their full menu here, with different options utilizing local ingredients.
Outdoor Seating: ✔
Closed: N/A, Open 7 days a week.
Arch Rock Brewing Company
Slightly off of Highway 101, the Arch Rock Brewery can be identified by the bay door, that just might be open as they brew. Arch Rock is primarily a production facility, open since 2013, but inside you will find a VERY small tasting room (about 6 x 8 feet maybe) with a door, open to the brewery. It fits a few people while they try the beers and decide which ones to fill in a growler or can to go (trust me, you will regret not getting more.) You don’t have a bartender, instead, you have the brewers, who step away for a few moments to assist you before returning to their brewing.
The Beer: They brew on a 15bbl, dairy equipment brewing system where they create three (multiple award-winning) signature brews along with occasional batches of “Brewers Select Series.” Self-distributed in the rogue valley, and found in Southern Oregon and Portland (on draft only.) Gold Beach Lager | State of Jefferson Porter | Pistol River Pale | Belgian Strong Ale
Outdoor Seating: ✕
Closed: Sundays and Mondays.
Gold Beach Brewing Company
NEW ADDITION, *I have not been to this location, its approximate open date is July 1, 2019
Misty Mountain Brewing
**One of my Top 5 Breweries to Visit on the Oregon Coast. Misty Mountain is a family owned and operated brewery composed of Hanna, Mark, Matt, and Cheyenne Camarillo. They create some of the most solid beers you will find on the coast. You can taste and see the love and passion that goes into everything they do from the ambiance of the Tap Haus to every pint you drink. The Lord of the Rings Decor is fun, the wood accents and dim lighting makes it feel as though you are in a cozy tavern. Truly a wonderful experience that makes one feel like they never want to leave. They are located downstairs (below the Black Trumpet Bistro) in the heart of downtown Brookings.
The Beer: Small batches, that result in impressive beers from varied styles, something for every taste bud. Draft only, 8 different taps. Blood Orange Pale Ale | Goldberry Kosch | Belgian Ale | Weatherhop IPA | Rivendale Blueberry Saison | Pippin’s Porter | Black Gate Dark Rye Ale | Sea of Ruin Imperial Red
Food: They have a small selection of bites like a Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese, charcuterie, and nachos. Or, you get food from upstairs if you prefer.
Outdoor Seating: ✕
Closed: Mondays and Tuesdays
Chetco Brewing Company
This 100% dog-friendly brewery is just a short distance off of Highway 101 and a great gathering spot for travelers and locals alike. It is truly an overall friendly and welcoming experience just to come in to sample their brews. Their building is quite large with an enormous event space, a food truck that parks indoors, and their actual tap room area has lots of nooks and crannies. They have a bar area with high-top tables where you can find a spot to be social, or, go to one of the quieter corners to play one of their board games, read a magazine, or work on your laptop while you enjoy a brew.
The Beer: With 16 taps available on site, and on draft at other locations, all of their beers are vegan (clarified with Irish moss) and organic, though not certified. Unite (Plum) Pale | The Chetco Effect Summer Ale | Summer Salmon IPA | Thunder Rock IPA | Imperial Coconut Porter | Block & Tackle Imperial Stout
Food: Available via food truck. They also offer house-made rootbeer and kombucha available along with cider and wine.
Outdoor Seating: ✔
Minors: ✔ until the food truck leaves at night
Closed: N/A Summer hours are 7 days/week.
Wild River Brewing & Pizza
Wild River is an Oregon Brewpub and Pizza chain with four locations across the state, brewing at two of their locations (no beer brewed on location.) They are located directly on Highway 101, this family-focused pizza joint has arcade games and pool tables with many excited children running around from long-table to long-table. Place your pizza order at the counter and your beer order at the bar. Though the main attraction here seems to be pizza over beer, there are cool and unique options of pizza to pair with a pint or flight of beer.
The Beer: Brewed at their Grants Pass or Cave Junction locations, they have a great selection of styles available year-round along with some season beers as well. Saison | Double Eagle Imperial Stout | Jerry’s IPA | Snug Harbor Brown Ale | ESB | Barrel Aged Sour | Fresh Hop Ale
Food: View their many pizzas and full menu selection here.
Outdoor Seating: ✕
Closed: N/A Open 7 days/week.
